Pro: How to add a new user
The License Manager and users with the Manager role can create new users. Remember, before creating a new user, you will need the person’s full name, email address, and phone number.
After logging in to Guardify, Click Users & Groups in the left-hand menu.
Click Add in the top right of the screen to create a new user.
Type in the email address of the person you want to create as your new user. Then click Add.
Note: If the email address is already in Guardify, the user’s full name and phone number will auto-populate.
Input the new user’s information:
All fields marked with an asterisk are required for each new user.
- Role: This will determine the settings and permissions a user has in Guardify. There are 3 roles: Manager, User, and Uploader.
- First and Last Name: The name that the user will be known as and searchable under in Guardify.
Mobile Phone Number: This field is required for each new user, as they must be able to receive a 2-factor authentication code to log in. The code is sent as a text message by default, which is why we suggest a mobile number.
Note: This phone number can also be one that does not receive text messages, the user will just need to choose a "call me with a new code" option on the verification screen.
- Organization Type: This should be whatever type of organization that the user is associated with, to keep track of types of users that are logging into Guardify.
- Organization Name: This should be the name of the agency that the user is associated with.
If you are adding a user with the "Manager" or "Uploader" role, click continue, and you will be brought to a screen that shows different user permissions that you can select for the user you are adding:
Select the additional user permissions that you'd like to assign your new user, and then click invite user. For more information on the available user permissions, click here.
Note: If you are adding a user with the "User" role, there are no additional user permissions to enable for this user type, and you can complete the creation of their user account by clicking invite user.
Once you click invite user, the user will be saved in your list of users, and a welcome email will be sent to your new user with details on how to complete the setup of their account.
Once you have added a user, you can edit a user at any time to change any user information or additional user permissions.
