Sharing with Download Permissions

As the interview custodian, you have control over who may access an interview and for how long they have access by sharing an interview. When you share an interview, you have the option of giving the user the ability to download an interview.

After logging into Guardify, select Interviews in the lefthand menu, and then find the interview you wish to share. Select Share from the 3-dot menu on the interview card OR when working within the interview, click Share in the top right corner. 

From the share access page, you can control exactly how long someone has access to an interview, as well as what features they have access to. Each check box is associated with a different permission that you can give each user when you share the interview. 

To give someone the ability to download, check the "download" check box. By default, they will be able to download the encrypted version of the interview video.

note: The security on an encrypted download prevents the video from being upload into another system, and shows in the interview history each time the video was downloaded and when it has been viewed. Additionally, in emergency situations the files can be wiped. Due to these additional security features, an internet connection is required in order to view an encrypted download.

If you have "sharing with Original downloads" turned on as a user permission, checking that "download" box will make a drop down box appear. 

This drop down box will give you the option to choose between "Encrypted" or "Original.

"Encrypted" will still be the default selection. Choosing "Original" will give that person the option between downloading Encrypted or Original.

note: An original download is an unencrypted video file that does not have any security attached. Once the video has been downloaded out of Guardify, additional viewing activity will not be logged in the Guardify history. An original download can be uploaded into other systems and does not require login to Guardify, or an internet connection to be played. Please handle with caution.

Once you select the download option that you would like to give this user, you can click "save" and that user will then be able to download the interview.
