Pro: Guardify Connect

Guardify Connect is an efficient and secure desktop app for uploading to the Guardify cloud. Drag and drop files or sync folders for automatic and seamless management, access, and sharing.


To install Guardify Connect onto your computer, log into Guardify and click "Guardify Connect" in the left hand navigation.

In a new tab, a window will open with download options for Windows or Mac. Click to install the one that matches your computer type.


Once installed, the Guardify app will appear on your computer with a blue Guardify logo as the desktop icon.

When opened, the Guardify app can be logged into using your regular Guardify login details.

Once logged in, the left hand navigation will let you choose between the upload screen, and the synced folders screen.

In the "Upload" tab, you will see three tabs along the top that say "upload" "in progress" and "completed."

UPLOAD

From the upload tab, you can drag and drop files from your computer directly into the window, or click to select the files or folders you want to upload. Once files are selected, you will see a summary of the total upload size, as as well as have the ability to select additional files to upload or remove selected files before committing to upload. Once you are ready, to upload, click "upload."

Note: Clicking cancel will clear all of your selections.

Once you click upload, a box will appear that asks you to assign a case ID and a note that pertains to the selected evidence. These details will be how the evidence is identified in the Guardify site once upload is complete.

Once you click upload, your upload progress will move from the "upload" tab to the "in progress" tab. You are able to continue uploading through the upload tab while other uploads are in progress.


IN PROGRESS

Once your files have begun uploading, all of the files you selected in your uploaded batch will show with a single progress bar showing the number of files that are uploading, as well as the date and time that the upload started.

If you click on the blue list icon under "Files Uploaded" on a batch that is in progress, it will show you a list of the files that are being uploaded.


COMPLETED

Once your upload is complete, it will move from the "In Progress" tab to the "complete" tab, and each batch of uploaded files will show the number of files that were uploaded, the total size of the batch that was uploaded. as well as the date and time that they were uploaded.


Synced Folders

In the synced folders tab in the left hand menu, you can choose a folder from your computer that will automatically upload files directly into Guardify as files are added to that folder. To sync a folder, click "choose folder" from the Synced Folders page and choose the folder from your computer that you would like to upload the contents of to Guardify.

Note: If the folder you select already has files in it, those files will immediately start uploading.

Once synced, the progress of your uploads will show directly in the synced folders upload queue with a total number of files that are present in that synced folder that are scheduled to upload, as well as the upload progress for each file.

As files complete uploading, they will appear in the "completed" tab, with a date and time that each file was uploaded.

After you have synced a folder, you are able to remove the synced folder or choose a new folder to sync. To do this, click the 3-dot menu a the top right of the synced folder screen, and you will see both options.

Note: Once you remove a synced folder or choose a new folder, your completed uploads will remain in "Incoming Files," but any queued uploads from the removed folder will not complete.


Accessing evidence uploaded through the app




Once evidence has been uploaded through the Guardify Connect App, all files will be able to be sorted and moved into cases by Prosecution Manager users from the "Incoming Files" section of Guardify. To access this, log into the standard browser app and click "Files" in the left hand navigation.



Any files that have been uploaded via the Guardify Connect app will be indicated by a green "connect" label to the right of the name of the person who uploaded it.


Any files that have been uploaded from a synced folder will be indicated with a small circular arrow icon on the folder icon to the left of the name of the evidence.

Like other evidence uploaded to incoming files, these files can then be selected and moved into new or existing cases in your Guardify account.
