How to disable a Guarded Playback download

When an interview is downloaded with Guarded Playback, the custodian of the interview in Guardify is able to log in and disable the playback on that downloaded file at anytime, making it so that no matter how many copies of the file have been made, it will no longer be able to be viewed.

To disable a Guarded Playback download, the custodian of the interview should log into Guardify and go to the "Interviews" tab to find the interview that was downloaded.

Once the interview is open, scroll down below the video player and click the "USER DOWNLOADS" tab.

This will show you a list of all downloads that have occurred for all videos for that specific interview, including the date and file name of each downloaded file, as well as the name of the user who downloaded it. The "Type" column will say "Encrypted" on any files that were downloaded with Guarded Playback.

Any files showing the "Encrypted" download type will have a lock icon appear to the right when you hover over the file name. Clicking this lock will disable that downloaded file, and all copies of that download.

Once you click the lock, you will be prompted to confirm that you do want to disable the downloaded file, and that disabling the file will prevent playback of the download and any copies that may have been made by that user. Type DISABLE in the provided box, and click confirm.

Once a Guarded Playback download has been disabled, the Interview History will show which user the downloaded file was disabled for, as well as who disabled the file.
