Discovery Lead Requests

Prosecution users are able to make requests to manage interviews for case preparation and discovery purposes. These discovery requests will allow the user who makes the request to share an interview within their office, and with defense as needed.

Watch the following video for a brief overview on how to request discovery access for an interview.

Submitting a new Discovery Lead Request

As a prosecution user logging into Guardify, there will be a "discovery" button at the top right of your list of interviews.

After clicking "discovery" you will be prompted to fill out a form with the details on the interview you would like access to. Enter the date that you would like your access to expire, and the relevant information about the interview that you are needing to start discovery on, then click "Create."

Once the Discovery Lead Request has been submitted, this request will appear in your Messages tab under "requests." All requests will show here as "pending" until a manager at the Child Advocacy Center is able to review and approve your request.

Once your request is approved, you will get an email letting you know your request has been approved, and you will then see the case in your list of shared interviews. The status of your request in your "requests" tab in Guardify will also show that it has been approved, and link you directly to the case.

You can also request discovery lead on an interview that has already been shared with you. Just open the interview that you want to start discovery on, and click the "Discovery" button at the top right of the interview. This will take you through the same request process as explained above.

Sharing an Interview with Prosecution and Defense

Once your discovery lead request has been approved for an interview, you will now have the ability to share this interview on with other users with other prosecution or defense users. You can also add new users that do not already have a Guardify account if you need to share with them for the purposes of discovery.

To share an interview that you are the discovery lead for, open the interview and click "share" at the top right of the screen.

To add a new user, click "add" at the top right corner of the screen, and then it will prompt you to select a user that you want to share this interview with from a list of existing Prosecution or Defense users.

You can also click the "new user" option to add them as a brand new user. Just type in their email address and click "add", and it will ask you to fill out their user details. You would just need their email address, name, and phone number to set them up with a new account.

Once you have selected the person you want to share your interview with, it will prompt you to select which permissions you want to give this user. Each check box on this list will correlate with a different feature.

Access Starts and Access Expires: this is where you choose how long a person will have access to this interview. You can change the start and end date by clicking the calendar icons in each column.

History: This will give the user access to view the History of this interview since it was uploaded to Guardify.

Video: this will share any videos that were uploaded to that interview.

Tags: gives them the ability to create their own tags, as well as view any public tags saved on the videos in that interview.

Transcript: "View" will allow the user to view the original AI generated transcript on the interview video. "Edit" will allow them to edit their own draft of the transcript.

Download: Will give the user the ability to download the interview. The default download type is "encrypted" but you may also have an "express" (unencrypted) option available as well depending on your share permissions.

Attachments: This is where you can select which other files in the interview get shared with this user.

If you are unable to select any of these permissions when you share the interview, that means that those permissions were not granted to you, so you are therefore not able to share them on to anyone else. You are only able to share as much access to an interview as the CAC granted to you.
