Original Downloads

An Original Download is an unencrypted video file that does not have any security attached. It is the original video file that was uploaded by the CAC, and has not been processed in any way by Guardify.

Once this video has been downloaded out of Guardify, additional viewing activity will not be logged in the Interview History. An original download can be uploaded to other sites and does not require login to Guardify, or an internet connection to be played. Please handle with caution.

To download an original interview file, open an interview and scroll down to the list of files below the video player. Each file that has been shared with you can be downloaded individually by hovering over the file name, and clicking the purple download icon.

Note: You can download multiple files at once by clicking the check boxes to the left of the files and clicking "create download package" at the top right of your list of files.

After clicking the download button for a video file, you may see two different download options. "Download Original" will allow you to download the original file of that video directly to your computer.

Note: the "Ready" status next to the original option will allow you to download that file immediately. If there is no status showing or if it says "preparing," it will take another 10 minutes or so for your download to become available.

If you do not have the "Download Original" option, this means that the person who shared the interview with you did not enable this permission. Please reach out to that person to request access.
