Viewing a Transcript

Each interview card will have one interview automatically transcribed. This will either be the first interview uploaded or if uploading multiple videos to the interview card at once, you will be able to select which one you would like transcribed. The transcript is generated by artificial intelligence. The interview custodian can choose to share the interview transcript with others. The transcript can be accessed at any time or downloaded as a text file or PDF file.

Once you have clicked into an interview card, click on the "Transcript" tab to view the transcript.

To download the transcript as a text file or PDF file or to edit the transcript, click on the purple 3-dots on the bottom of the transcript.

Note: If there are multiple videos in an interview card, there will only be a transcript available for the primary video in the interview. This will be the first video listed in the small thumbnails above the video player. The video with transcript/closed captioning available will show "CC" in the thumbnail.

Another way to view or edit the transcript is by clicking the 3-dot menu in the interview card, and click "View/Edit Transcript". This will then pop up the generated transcript.

If you do not have either of these options available to you, this means that the custodian of the interview has not shared the transcript with you, and you will need to contact them directly to request that the closed captioning option be shared with you.
